Introducing
Is HRT Right for You?

You may have been told you are not a candidate for hormone therapy. Many practitioners learned from older studies and have not had time to follow what changed. You deserve better. Dr. Maita has walked in your shoes.

“I wasn’t sleeping. I was tired, irritable, losing my hair, gaining weight, and I blew up many relationships. When my best friend told me my personality had changed, I finally realized I was in perimenopause. Once I took progesterone, the clouds parted, the sun came through.”

Dr. Lorraine Maita, MD · Her experience. Results vary.

She does not believe any woman should suffer needlessly
or be talked out of an option without the facts.

This course gives you what a 15-minute appointment never could: a complete, science-backed education on hormone replacement therapy, so you can stop guessing and start making clear, confident decisions about your health. Instead of “just take hormones and see what happens,” it puts you in the driver’s seat of your own hormonal health.

Education, not medical care.

What Does This HRT Course Cover?

Is HRT Right for You? is a self-paced online course from The Feel Good Again Institute for women in perimenopause or menopause who are weighing hormone replacement therapy. It covers why hormones shift and drive symptoms; where the fear of HRT came from and what research shows since 2002; bioidentical and synthetic hormones; the real risks and benefits; and what to expect if you start. It is education, not medical care.

What Is Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Hormone replacement therapy, also called menopausal hormone therapy, replaces the estrogen, and usually the progesterone, that the ovaries make less of in perimenopause and menopause. It is used to relieve hot flashes, night sweats, and genitourinary symptoms, and to protect bone. Whether it fits a particular woman depends on her symptoms, her health history, her age, and how long it has been since her final period.

Does This Sound Familiar?

Why Is It So Hard to Get Clear Answers About HRT?

You’ve heard it from friends. You’ve read the headlines. And somehow you’re more confused than when you started. You’re afraid of the risks, and also afraid of feeling this way forever.

The information out there is contradictory, fear-based, and almost never tailored to you. Feeling confused says nothing about how smart you are. It says the conversation most women are having about HRT is broken. If any of this sounds familiar, you are in the right place.

  • You’re lying awake at 3 a.m., exhausted, drenched in sweat, wondering if anything will actually help.
  • You feel dismissed every time you bring up hormones or hormone therapy.
  • You’re afraid of the risks you’ve read about, but also afraid of staying this way.
  • You’ve been told your labs are “normal” while you feel anything but.
  • You’ve tried HRT before, stopped for reasons you’re unsure about, and wonder if you made the right call.
  • You want to make a real, informed decision, but you don’t have the right information yet.

Where the Fear Came From

Why Are So Many Women
Afraid of Hormones?

What many women find surprising is that HRT is one of the most misunderstood and misrepresented options in women’s health. In 2002, the first results of a large hormone study were reported in a way that frightened a generation of women and their doctors, and many women stopped overnight.

That study tested one hormone formulation at one dose, in women who were, on average, more than a decade past their final period. Later analyses looked closely at age, timing, and the type of hormone. The science has evolved, and you deserve to understand it.

Four sentences you have probably heard, and the question each one leaves open
What you were toldWhat that answer never covered
“Hormones cause breast cancer.”Which hormones, at what dose, by which route, started at what age? Those details are where the risk picture changes.
“You are not a candidate.”Based on what? A blanket rule from older research, or your own symptoms, history, and timing?
“Just ride it out. It will pass.”Menopause is forever. What happens to your sleep, your bones, and your brain while you wait?
“Your levels are normal for your age.”Normal for your age and right for you are two different questions. What are your symptoms telling you?

“When you understand your own body, no one can dismiss you. Clarity is power, and it leads to real change.”

Why the Order Matters

Hormones Work Best in a Body That Can Clear Them

You cannot balance hormones in a toxic, inflamed, sluggish body that cannot clear hormone breakdown products and toxins. Give hormones to that body and you have built your house on a swamp.

There is a clear order. Clear the inflammation and the hormone disruptors first. Balance hormones and metabolism second. Build the habits that sustain your health, your longevity, and your quality of life third. That is why the course includes a guide to balancing hormones naturally, whether or not you choose HRT.

Questions

Is HRT Right for You? FAQ

I’ve heard HRT is dangerous. Is it really safe?

The science has changed significantly since the Women’s Health Initiative study in 2002, the study that scared a generation of women away from hormone therapy and was widely misinterpreted. Safety depends on the type of hormone, the dose, the route, your age, and your health history. This course walks you through what current research shows, so you can make a decision based on evidence, not fear.

I don’t even know if I really need HRT.

That is exactly what this course is designed to help you figure out. You don’t need to have the answer already; you just need to be willing to learn. The clarity comes from the education.

My doctor already told me it’s not for me.

Before you accept that as the final word, learn why doctors make that determination and what questions to ask, so you receive a personalized assessment instead of a blanket response based on outdated guidelines.

I’ve already tried so many things and nothing has worked.

That is exactly why understanding HRT specifically, rather than trying more random solutions, matters. Clarity on whether this is the right next step saves time, money, and frustration.

Does hormone therapy cause breast cancer?

The answer depends on which hormones, in what form, for how long, and in whom. Estrogen alone and estrogen combined with a progestogen were studied separately, and they did not behave the same way. The course lays out what the research found for each, so your decision rests on the evidence rather than a headline.

Is it too late to start HRT if I am years past menopause?

Timing matters. Your age and the number of years since your final period both shape the balance of risk and benefit, which is why a blanket yes or no rarely fits. The course explains the timing question so you know where you stand before you talk to your physician.

Is this course for men too?

The decision material is written for women in perimenopause and menopause. Men have hormone shifts of their own, and the guide to balancing hormones naturally and the way the course teaches you to read research apply to them as well.

How do I access the monthly community calls?

Once you enroll, you will receive the call details. Calls are held on the first Tuesday of every month, and replays are available if you cannot attend live.
